Based on real events, the story follows a father and son (Offerman and Tremblay) who identify as Sovereign Citizens, a group of anti-government extremists, as they venture across the country and find themselves in a standoff with a chief of police (Dennis Quaid) that sets off an intense manhunt with tragic consequences.。单亲爸爸天山（王迅饰）为了救患有先天性心脏病的儿子天佑佑（张峻豪饰），在做“蜘蛛人”的时候，不小心看到了正在洗澡的大龄剩女七剑（张瑶饰），又目睹了一起抢劫杀人案。恰巧负责协查这起杀人案的七剑，自然对天山紧追不舍，而后展开一系列曲折离奇的故事。。苏阳因女友出轨失手杀人，投案自首。然而随着调查深入，一系列诡异事件接连出现。消失的尸体，离奇的监控画面，甚至出现了另一个‘苏阳’。当怪事不断升级。苏阳猛然惊醒，身边的“人”，或许并非同类。平行世界的诡异生物‘灰’，早已悄然入侵现世。。
